Who is Jesus to You?
Or should I say, "Why do you trust Jesus?" He is my Creator, Savior, Friend, and my all, and all. That comes to mind when I hear, "Who is Jesus to me?".
I love the song "You've Always Been" by the band Unspoken; that sums it up: Jesus is "everything I've needed." Even when I didn't know I needed it.
You ask, "Why Should I know who He is to me? Jesus loves you and wants a relationship with you! I ask, "How will you have a relationship and trust with someone you do not know?" Trust grows over time. How will you surrender your life to the leadership of Christ and live for Him?
The only way to understand that is to know His Word and character. He is a promise keeper; you can see this throughout the Bible.
By reading the Word of God, you will see that Jesus is God and Jesus is our Creator and gave us purpose. Jesus is a part of the Godhead (Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit).
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Genesis 1:26
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. “ Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV)
You will see that Jesus is our Savior and Friend. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John15:13
"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10 *
"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12*

You will see that Jesus is our Provider. It is not just about what Jesus gives to us, which is a lot; just thinking about Him giving us salvation is enough that we might have eternal life. We know it is a part of God's character to provide for us.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." James 1:17 (ESV)
You will see that Jesus is our Cornerstone. He is our firm foundation. We can put our trust in Jesus, and He will help us. The New Testament writer, the Apostle Peter, quoting Isaiah 28:16, says, "As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone," 1 Peter 2: 4- 7 (ESV).
These are a few attributes of Jesus. Is this someone you would like to get to know? Someone to come into a love relationship. Jesus wants to. From the beginning, He has loved us and intentionally and passionately pursued people. Those who hear the message and receive it will have eternal life.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, He is worth getting to know and follow. You can start by searching in the Bible for the different names of God and the meanings of those names to learn and understand His character. If you need to grow your walk with Jesus, read His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you, give you understanding, and give you the knowledge to practice what His Word says.
I hope this helps on your journey to finding out " Who Jesus is to you?".
Blessings!

You’re Identity in Christ
Do you remember in Sunday School, we would sing, “I am Somebody” author Unknown. The song still rings true.
“I am somebody.
(Yes, I am, Yes, I am)
I am somebody.
(Yes, I am, Yes, I am)
I ‘ve been washed in His Blood.
I’ve been filled with His Love.
I’m a child of the Most High King!
We are somebody! Understanding our identity in Christ is very important. Sometimes, we feel lost in this world and do not know how we fit in.
When we believe what our faithful and loving God says about us and walk in it, we know how we fit and can live in freedom and able to live it abundantly. If we do not believe in our identity in Christ, we will struggle with trusting Him and strive to earn the gift the Lord has freely given.
By faith in Jesus, we are grafted into the family of God. We have been adopted and are heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God. We are a part of a royal priesthood. We are seated in heavenly places.
Throughout His Word, God lets us know who we are. With so many of God’s promises in His Word, we should take the time to read the scriptures and commit them to memory to hide in our hearts. (Psalm 119:11) When trouble comes, we will have scriptures to remind us of who and whose we are. Here are just a few promises on who we are in Christ!
I have been adopted as God’s child – Ephesian 1:5 *
I have been bought with a price and I belong to God – 1 Corinthians 6:19,20. *
I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him – Romans 8:17*
I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession and created to sing His praises – 1 Peter 2:9-10 *
I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm Ephesians 2:6*
I am chosen by God, holy and dearly loved – Col 3:12*
I am God’s workmanship – Ephesians 2:10*
I am a citizen of heaven – Philippians 3:20*
I have been made complete in Christ - Colossians 2:10*

Wow, we have connection and access to our great and loving God. We are not alone to fend for ourselves in this unsettled world.
Begin to meditate on these verses to build your faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ by understanding who we are and walk intentionally in God’s will for our lives.
Blessings!

God’s Love in the Gospel
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The Gospel begins with God’s great love towards us and how He wants to restore the relationship He created us to have with Him.
God created us in His image. We were to praise and walk in relationship with Him, but sin came into the world through disobedience and brought a penalty of separation and death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NKJV
We cannot overcome our sinful nature on our own, but God still wants a relationship with us. God has made a way for us to return to Him. He sent His Son, the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; lived among us as an example, died to pay the price for our sins, and rose from the dead to overcome death so that we would have an opportunity for eternal life with Him.
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
By accepting this gift, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and adopted into God’s family. You gain many spiritual blessings that you will learn about in studying of the Word of God. The Holy Spirit is your Helper in your walk with Jesus. Praise the Lord!
To accept this precious gift, you will be able to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, today even! There are no magical words. All you need is a sincere and repentant heart. He will give you the words. It is a conversation between you and God. You will reflect and understand your need for a Savior and the gift He has provided. Pray and confess your sins and believe in Him as your Savior. Thank Him for His sacrifice and the new life in Him. Ask Him to lead you to a local church where you can mature in faith and learn to live Life His Way!
If you have accepted this precious gift, praise God, and share the message with someone today to bring hope to them!
