Bible Tip #1

Remember to start your Bible Study time with prayer.  Invite the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of God's Word as you study and to lead you to understanding to apply the scripture(s) to your life.

Bible Tip #2

Get to know your Bible. How is your bible broken up? How many books of the bible are there? Take the time to memorize the books of the bible in order to make it easier to find scripture when participating in Bible studies. Finding where books are in the Bible is half the battle in gaining confidence in knowing how to utilize the Bible.

Bible Tip #3

Context is key when studying a passage of scripture. Remember to ask Who, What, When, Where, How, and Why.  Understand this is an Eastern worldview and not a Western worldview.  The scriptures were written over thousands of years ago, so determine what the text is saying and how does that translate today.

Read the verse or passage.

Meditate over the verse. - Ask what is the scripture verse(s) saying? What does it mean? How can I apply the verse(s) to my life?

Do further study if needed to get a better understanding.
